Hi

I have just got (few weeks ago) MetaTrader, and have been trying to get to grips with it so i can do what i want, but i think i am really missing something, so help.

1) First off, an easy one i guess, for example i do a backtest with the tool on a built in indicator. What happens is it executes 4 trades over 12mths (but looking at the chart there are at least 5 times the signals). But what i want it to do is execute when there is a buy and sell signal. I want to some how put a SL/TP point in, say 20pts and take profit and then wait for a buy or sell. I too want to build in 2pts spread so that it is like the platform i am running.

2) I have been getting data from Yahoo, and converting it as i am a cheap skate. My problem is, if i use for example 10 years of backdata, the dates some how skip. For example i import 10 years of data from 6 nov 1999 to 6 nov 2009, but when i view the data, the dates go from 6 nov 1999 to 3 june 2009. The data that is listed for 2 june 2009 is the data that should be 6 nov 2009, but some how dates have been lost, any idea on how to correct this?

3) Is there any resource on creating a custom indicator, free if possible? I want to transfer my system from Excell to MS11, but i am not sure how to go about codeing this, if its possible?

4) Has metastock improved your win/loose ratio? and made you more/less profit?

I chose MS over VectorVest and ESignal, dont know if i did the right thing, but sure i will find out and a take a peak at the others if it dont work out.
