Mid-South Weatherman, Brian Teigland, Dies at 53 Cheif Meteorologist for WPTY/WLMT Found Unresponsive

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WHBQ FOX13 myfoxmemphis.com) -- Well-known Mid-South weatherman Brian Teigland, Chief Meteorologist for WPTY/WLMT, passed away Friday morning. He was 53.

Teigland was found unresponsive by his wife in their East Memphis home. Paramedics at the scene were unable to revive him, and he was declared dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.


Brian Teigland was a weather caster for WREG in the early 80's for several years before moving to Detroit. He returned to Memphis and joined the local ABC/CW affiliate, where he served as their Cheif Meteorologist for several years.

Funeral arrangements are still pending, according to his station's website. Brian leaves behind his wife and three children.
